Arriving in Nashville

Arriving in Nashville

Today was my first of three days in Nashville!  It all started with a 5 hour delay at the Washington Dulles International Airport.  But, all went uphill after that!  We arrived in Nashville an hour before a scheduled vocal coaching session with Kim Wood Sandusky.  We left the airport in our not so souped up rental car, went straight to get some of the best chocolate in Nashville at the Cocoa Tree, then on to the vocal coaching session.  Chocolate is a must!

Kim Wood Sandusky works with some of the top artists in the industry and I was humbled beyond measure that she had a spot for me in her busy schedule!  In a high-rise on music row overlooking downtown, I played her Steinway Grand and sang Made for Me and Through the Rain for her.  She loved Made for Me (yaaay!!).  She is absolutely brilliant at what she does!  She went straight for my weak spots and brought in the strength.  Thank you, Kim!!

From there, we went to visit good friends of mine, Carl and Heather Cartee!  Amazing people, incredible worship artists and sweet growing family of almost 4 boys (due in July!).  Carl reminded me of how important it is to take steps of faith, relying completely on God to craft us into who He wants us to be.  His glory is so much bigger than we can even fathom. Thanks, Carl!!

And last, we stopped in to record with Keith and Kristyn Getty for their LIVE DVD.  With a choir of gifted vocalists, we sang In Christ Alone, the Power of the Cross, By Faith, and lots more.  It was an awesome evening of worship!  Keith is a gentle hearted man who is excellent at his craft of songwriting.  He is admittedly Irish, reformed and versed in classical music-- all of which fuel his writing.  Inspiring to all of us songwriters!!

One day. Down!
